XR400 fuel tanks
I'm looking for a bigger fuel tank for my XR400. So far I've found the Acerbis 22 litre and the IMS 20 litres tanks. Are there any others I should know about?
Also I've seen desert rally XR400s with rear tanks fitted. Anyone know who makes them, and where I might buy one from the UK? Thanks in advance. Iain |

I've got the IMS tank on my XR400. The fit is excellent and it's held up well for 3,500 miles. With the IMS tank my range is over 200 miles of mixed riding (street, dirt, and trail). I'd recommend the IMS tank if it's big enough for your needs.

I've never seen those rear tanks on anything but XR650s - if you've seen them on XR400s, they were likely custom-fabricated. If you were feeling particularly ambitious, you could try to somehow fit that Acerbis rear tank to the XR400, but the effort required would probably warrant going to buy an XR650R instead, since they share no similar parts or frame geometry.

The bike I've seen is run by Annie Seel, desert rallye rider and guide at Moto Aventures. I'm not sure how to insert an image into one of these posts, but hopefully a picture of the bike should appear below;
