xr400 fuel tank reserve problem
 

when my xr400 drops onto reserve i can only get a few miles out of it before it cuts out. i can see there is still plenty of fuel left but its all on the r/h side of the tank while the tap is on the left.
i know the amount of fuel isnt great but its the difference between riding to the gas station to fill it up :mchappy: , or pushing it for about 2 miles up hill in the bloody wind and snow:thumbdown:
is there an easy fix for this

I've had that with a 20L Clarke tank on an XR600. The easy fix is just to lay the bike down on the left side until the petrol runs across.

With increasing difficulty other fixes would be:
a. carry an extra 2L in a can to get you to the gas station,
b. extend the pickup pipe in the tank so you go onto reserve a bit earlier, or c. drill the righthand side and fit a crossover pipe to connect the right and left sides together.
