Honda XR650L stuff wanted

Hello all

I have just bought a 1998 XR650L last week and am very pleased with it. My 34L retains the King of Bikes title but only just

If anybody has any L parts lying around in their garage (probably in the UK ) after a big trip, I'd be very keen to buy.

Particularly I'd like overland related parts obviously, but I'm keen to buy anything that is for the aircooled L 650,

Thank you in anticipation

Dick

Hi
I would just say change the tank(go for clark or acerbis)
There are many rear rack options.Look at ebay US.
You know they still build this bike for US market? So plenty of extras still out there.
You ride soft luggage with it?
I ride my XR since 1994 and added this year a nice 55W!So we share same rides.
I can recomend to change the front sprocket!Get a XR 650R or dominator one. They are wider and have more contact to the transmission axle.
Thats the only issue with this bike so far.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

The L is in pretty good order already to be honest - it has a complete Yoshimura system, 24 litre tank and k&n filter + jetting and it has only done around 4k miles so it is good condition.

I guess I am just a hoarder. My 1983 XT600 has a ton of spare plastics and rims and so on and I would like to get some spares together for the L as well.

I will use soft luggage once I get a rack sorted - I guess the USA is the best place to start looking

cheers

Dick

Xrl

Hi.
I'm guesing you know this but most XR bits are the same and the lump is basically a Dominator.
zenoverland.co.uk are doing some new soft panniers and the guy who runs it has an XRL that was his steed for an RTW so he will be some help there.
Ask for Gabe.
What are you looking for/to modify?
Dave.

Thumbs down correct link

The correct domainname is zenoverland.com

ZEN Overland - Everything Adventure & Off Road

PS: I don't like the HUBB to use external APIs like yahooapis... It's not healthy to rely on the big providers of ajax stuff to automatically add tracking to all sites that use them.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
