XL600 in Hamburg

Hi,

I'm working in Hamburg for a year or so and have my bike with me. It's a 1987 XL600 with 30 000 Km on the clock. I'm planning to do a trip to Morocco but I'd like to get the front suspension sorted out before I go. I don't know if the forks have had any attention ever so I'd like the oil changed and possibly new springs fitted. They seem to sag a bit at the moment. I'm having a hard time finding somewhere in Hamburg that can do this work for me. I've never done any work to forks before so I just want to pay someone else who knows what they're doing to do it then I can forget about it.

I've asked around locally but have have had little luck so far. I mostly get referrals to modern Honda dealers but they're no good because of the age of the bike and the facts that it's an import.

Can anyone suggest somewhere in Hamburg?

Hej,

there is a motorcycle do-it-yourself garage in Hamburg Altona.
You can rent a place to work on your bike, they have all tools you will need for your work on the forks. They will also help with advice and coffee - friendly place and reasonable rates.

Adress is:
Motorrad Selbsthilfe Altona
Stahlwiete 12
22761 Hamburg
phone: 040 8508930

google will help to find their website - I don't know if it is allowed to post the link.

Good luck

Hi Bubbla,

Thanks for that, you're the second person to mention that place to me. I just didn't pay enough attention the first time so had no idea where they were and what they were called. I will definitely pay a visit...

Thanks ...
