XL/XR gearbox
Hi All,
Well this strip down is becoming more costly by the minute!!! Does anyone know if the gear-boxes are inter changeable between the XL and XR models? the cost of new gears has started me thinking about getting a good second hand main and counter shaft and gears from a recent XR. If they are compatible would it have to be from a similar year (1987) or could i go for a later one? My XL is the European model XL600LMH which has the same bore and stroke as the XR 97mmx80mm,and as the conrods are the same i'm hoping the gear cluster is as well?! What about one from a Dominator (NX650) or the XR650L? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Stuart
