What problems to look for in a Dominator?

I am in Australia and wanting a bike. The local shop has a 90 Dominator with 71,000 kilometers on it, asking 2500. I don't know the bike, but ride honda at home and am partial. I would be riding it for about 4 weeks then selling it or if its worth it, shipping it home.
Anything special I should look for? is this a good price for the year/mileage?
any other advice/comments would be appreciated.

thanks

alex

Don't know if it's a good deal but selling a bike with that age and mileage will not be easy. You will have to sell cheap cheap if you are in a hurry but after four weeks riding you will still end up saving a lot of money compared to hiring something.
71000km is close to where many singles become problematic. Oil consumption goes up, pistons, barrel and rings are worn and and and.
If it's running nicely and if you can afford a total loss of the purchase price in the unlikely event that it goes bang I would say go for it. You probably can't do better. If you're lucky you can put a few thousand km on it and sell it without major losses.
Shipping home probably exceeds the value of the bike or at least sensible amounts. But then you might get attached to it :-)

Good luck!
