Updated / replacement Transalp?

Now that Honda have dropped their 650cc engine for the Deauville, will the new 680cc engine be used in the TA?

Isn't the TA due for an update to compete with the V-Strom / KTM Adventurer (both of which have more power with similar weight).

Personally I'm sure the TA has enough power, but it would be good to maybe loose some weight....

I think Honda will be announcing their 2007 range shortly. I see that the TAs are being discounted here in the UK at the moment.

Does anyone have any further insight? Or will the current just remain (for ever)!

The Alp will without doubt get the Deauville motor, With 4 valves and fuel injection, the current motor will not be able to meet the tightening emission's regs as is, I reckon.

A bit more power would'nt go amiss but let's hope they don't do a Honda special and ruin a perfectly good, true, allrounder with gimmicky frills.

you know they will !!

I know its probably a good thing in the long run but i much prefer carbs over FI. They're smoother and easier to fix. Too much electrical trickery is no good on an overlander imho.

They will prob make it weaker and lighter too which is great for commuting but again, no good for luggage and loads.
