Transalp XL650V - EU Emission Standards
I currently live in Switzerland and will be moving to Vienna in March. I own an unmodified 2001 650 TA and am looking into whether it is easier to import the bike to Austria or sell and buy another. The bike will need to be registered in Austria as a new vehicle since we don't have a permanent address in La Suisse. Since Switzerland is not part of the EU (but I think follows most of is standards) can anyone tell me whether there is likely to be a problem passing the EU emission control standards for new registered vehicles with a 2001 TA?? I have read quite a bit about how manufacturers are moveing away from carbs to FI to deal with this issue and of course the 2001 TA has carbs. Cheers J |
