Transalp XL650-V touring screen

Hi,

I have a XL 650-V6 Transalp. OK it might not set your world on fire but its my first bike for ten years and it suits me fine.

I have just fitted a Honda Touring Screen and I am delighted with the difference that the new screen makes to riding. I intend to ride to Spain next year and maybe France later this year, I can now see how hard the riding would have been with the standard screen. The new screen is 140mm higher than the standard screen.

My next project may be engine bars as i have dropped the bike once and broke the radiator. I have seen the touratech full engine bars which fit around the fairing and I have also seen the smaller version which just cover the bottom of the engine.

Do any of you have any opinion on these engine bars or any advice in general.

Many thanks

Hi Lee - I've also been looking at crash bars for my Transalp. My choices are, in order of preference:

1. The Graves crash bars (from Czech) are excellent - but if heard that it can be difficult to do business with them.

2. My next choice would be the German Hepco & Becker bars

3. A lot of T/A owners rate the Givi bars, but these seem to offer less protection for the plastic fairings - more of an engine guard only IMHO.

Let us know what you eventually end up with.

Cheers

KEITH
