Transalp

Hi,
After a long time thinking of what bike to get, going from a KLE...Tenere..etc

It's now come down to a TRANSALP :thumbup1:

The only thing is money and 'the other half' wanting a hoilday ..:censored:..

Seen a few around and just asking if anyone can tell me if a 2005 with 14,000 miles, Metallic Black , Full Service History , and looks MINT

is a good price at £3,795....?
The body looks great, its just the miles that its done is it good or bad :helpsmilie:

please help before the summer comes and GOES and the wife takes more money from me:thumbdown:

Is standard? What accessories? Service history. Private sale or dealer? what plate is it on, 54 or 05

Sounds a bit expencive.

A lot of Transalps end up being registered late so check what model year you are looking at.

If you have cash I think the price should be more around 2600 to 2800 private sale good condition. Add another 300 on for a dealer.

Hi Steve,

Yeah it is standard...:( on a 05 plate..!
so I think I could do better, Thanks for your input over this small matter:thumbup1:

Camnz,

Hey up ,

Steves right it does sound a little on the pricey side ,
my TA v5 was an ex-police bike , bought it out the bike Trader
2 years ago , engine bars , givi boxes , h ,grips plus large screen for
2,900 . 5,500 miles.
did a few mods myself + sevicing , had to change the rear shock cause it was leaking , bought a s/hand one off Ebay for 18 quid , a bargain ..

O, the bike was from castle motorcycles , might be worth asking if they
are getting any more in .

Well after all that..!

I went out this afternoon and test drove a new 09 plate Transalp with 1,900 miles on it, Top Box, in the best colours of Blue, White with Gold rims and fell in love with it:clap:

The only thing now is telling the "other half"
:hang:
But i really dont give a S**** , she can go on holiday alone :Beach:
this bike is mine:mchappy:

Post pixs soon .... if I'm still alive:stormy:

after you pick yourself up off the floor and pack your case to go on holiday with the wife, you may still be considering a 650 TA ...

I own one and its a great bike, but the price sounds steep. I reckon around the 3000 mark for that bike..

There are a few on ebay all of the time.

Hi Mitch,

Why don't you cut the cake in half. If you're any good at haggling, and if you're flashing notes, you might get a good 30% off the price of that 2005 bike. The one you just mentioned sounds like it's gonna give you grief not the bike but the uninterested biking members.

I bought a 2004 TA with 21 000 km on the clock immaculate for 4700 €

Instead of new for 7200€ it was one owner and all honda maintenance.

Which ever way you look at it, I doubt you could go wrong with a TA.

It's a lovely, sturdy, reliable, good machine.

Ps: The dealers love letting new clients test a new bike, they run perfectly, and are very tempting. More money in the pocket for him too. But they ride the same as the old ones the TA. It's got a lot of heritage this bike.

Good luck.
