Smoking dommie
Hi guys,
My Dommie has smoke coming out of the exhaust when i rev it up but only on over run, it doesn't seem to do it on acceleration, the engine has previously been rebored with a oversize piston, it doesn't seem to be using any oil, any ideas? TD

Check the air filter isn't blocked, the engine breather is in good condition, and the oil level isn't right up to the top of the plug. A little over the mark is ok but not FULL. Simple i know but easy to overlook...
If no other obvious reason is found then i'd be looking at the valve stem seals as the most probable cause. It can be done without taking the head off BUT....it's not a job for the faint-hearted!

Hi Jon,
Thanks for the reply. The air filter was replaced about a month ago and the valve stem seals about 6 months ago, i've noticed that there's a lot of pressure coming out of the crankcase breather though! TD |
