Wink Who's good at rebuilding an XR50R seat?

Love the bike, hate the seat.
Any experiences with seat builders in the UK that have turned the thin slab into something approaching comfortable. Or any advice to do a DIY job.
Dont let me suffer any more!
Thanks
Oz

Wink Cheers Coolkarim

Thanks for the reply. How much did you tell them to remove in terms of height. I wouldnt want to tell them too much in case I ended up compressing the foam and sitting on plastic like I have done for a while on a little CBR400RR I also own. Did they give you a reasonable price for the job?
Thanks
Oz

Red XR650R Seat

Seat Foam

• Please make as soft and wide as possible for touring

• I am 75 kgs with skinny bum

• Avoid increasing seat height (when ‘riding’, ie when foam is pressed) because my legs are short and the bike is tall
• Please use similar style to your leaflet main picture

Additions

• High grip panel colour – black
• Knee brace clour – red (similar colour to existing)
• Time card holder.
• XR650R logo – see photo for text style

The seat on my CCM was also done by motorcycleseatworks and I've been pretty pleased. The stock seat had you squirming after 30 mins and the modded one has increased this to 2 -3 hrs. This still might not seem great
but their brief was to keep the same profile and height so it limited what they could do.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
