Oil For Forks for XRV 750

Hello all,
i am in India and been on the road now for about 10 month .... i had to change the front forks Oil, here i have been recomended to use Automatic Trasmission Oil, in the technical manual of the Honda Africa Twin XRV 750, it does not specify any particular oil but it just says Oil for FORKS, anyone has any idea if the Automatic trasmission Oil is ok or not , and if not which oil is appropriate ??
Thanks for the usual feed back

Heyho

I did the same, and it worked quite smooth. I think the original oil should be a SAE 10 or 15... but it will work for you.

Hi guy,s

You should use shockbreaker oil.
If you can not find it, I would recoment NOT to change it. Better to have old oil then wrong oil.
Any other kind of oil can damage the seals and valves in the forks.

Since cars usually don,t have shocks, you can refill... it can be hard to find.
