Mounting an IMO on a XR650L

Hi Chaps/Chapesses,

I've recently been beavering away in my garage fitting an IMO100R300 rally computer (from Touratech) to my XR650L. The wiring was a doddle, but finding a good way of fitting the actual unit is less easy on this model. I currently have it mounted to the 'bars - but it's a bit exposed here. I've removed the stock clocks, but am still trying to figure out the best way of fitting the IMO in the space where they used to be. Before I start cobbling together some home-made confection, I was wondering if anyone else had solved this problem and, if so, how?

Answers on a postcard... :-)

Thanks a lot,

Andy

I haven't ever seen this set-up in person, but African Queens sure sells some nifty looking Rally cockpit setups:

Check out Produkte, then Ubersicht then under Verkleidungen, you'll see Universal GFK "Enduro" Verkleidungsmaske - A universal windscreen/rally computer/headlight configuration. This could solve several problems all at once with the XR - wind protection, rally computer mount and it puts your computer farther forward so it's easier to see while riding.

Cheers,
Wright
