mods for XR650L Tank

Hi Chris

I decide to have one of Wynn's Acerbis 40 lit thanks.
In the correspondence we exchanged it is mentioned that you are going to have one and you intend to do some mods to make it fit onto the XR650L.
Is it possible to let me know what are the mods you intend to do? are they very difficult to achieve?
Anybody else info, opinion is heartly welcommed.
Thanks
Alessandro

Chris' wooden blocks to fit the 40 litre tank would be enough to put most people off! having seen it close up, I reckon you might have to relocate the battery earth strap on the XRL in order to move the tank further back. the earth strap wasn't needed on the XR6 (for which the tank and frame were designed) because it was kick start. moving the tank back would allow more steering lock, but less seat space. the big brackets that come with the tank rely on lugs that aren't all there on the XRL. maybe you can get lugs welded on? better than lots of cans or running short!

Hi Alessandro,
you can see fitting the tank on my website:

It is simple but I havent tested it yet - the tanks of course are for XR600s so there is no easy way - but it is possible.
