Mikuni carb issues and ID.
Hi again, this is a Mikuni flatslide carb that's on my '86 xr600 with dommie engine. The diameter of the inside of the venturi is 37mm, I don't think it's a TM, anyone know what else it could be.?
I've cleaned it up and it runs and pulls smoothly from tickover but seems to run out of steam about half throttle to full throttle. From what I could make out the main jet looked like 135 but this seems very small. The websites I've looked at talk about main jets around 155 but none of them talk about 37mm flatslide mikuni. There's no snorkel ,the exhaust is stock xr600 headers and tailpipe, and I've fitted a K and N filter in the standard xr600 undrilled airbox. Gearing is 14/48. Any guidance and info on this carb would be much appreciated, Thanks. |

Try posting the same message on the Thumpertalk website under the Honda XR forum - someone there may be able to help.
