Honda XL185
I'm on the verge of buying a 1981 Honda XL185, with relatively low miles (15000), a known history and for sensible money. I mainly intend to use it for long distance trials, but it's tempting to go travelling on it...
Any known bugs or issues with this machine? I recognise the machine's limitations in terms of its age and relatively small engine capacity (although both subjects debatable/debated), just wondering if there are any serious bugs associated with this model. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ian.
Don't suppose the trials you mention happen to be the 3 MCC trials(Exeter,Lands End,Edinbro')? If so i'd think this will be more than a good test to see if it can hold up to travelling on it.Nice light bike that,ideal for finding out where that track goes to.... Those three events which I do every year (I'm the Tenere rider with the broken clutch cable - thanks for the lift).

Oh yes! i did speak to you at the start of the Edinbro',did'nt i? I'll be scrutineering again at the Haynes musium/trial start on the Exeter,and will also be at the top of Simms making sure everyone stops on the "stop" line after the section ends.Well,slows down at least!Stop for a chat if you're ahead of time.
