Honda Tornado 250 tool sizes

Hi there,

we are renting Honda Tornados in Morocco at the end of the week and the rental place is a bit non-responsive about details regarding tools and equipment. We want to bring our own tools, but don't know which ones (i.e. sizes) we need, especially for removing the wheels to repair a flat tire. We spent quite a while researching this on the web, but since this model does not seem to be available in the US or Europe, there is very little information in English.

Can anyone tell me what spanner size we need and perhaps also whether there are any other specific tools we should bring for that bike?

Thanks a lot!

10, 12, 14 and 17mm open end wrenches.
No. 1 Phillips
No. 3 screwdriver
24mm box end (rear axel nut)
8mm box wrench (needs around 5" clearance)
Spark plug wrench
Bike pump
Puncture repair kit

That should do you for all roadside repairs!!! Note that is for a Tornado purchased in the Americas. Should probably be the same but I don't know.

This looks like a good list to me, I have the Tornado's little brother the XR125L which takes the same sizes. The only thing I would add is get short series combination spanners, they are a lot smaller and lighter but do the same job with a little more effort.

Good idea - you can really cut weight by streamlining your tools. The toolkit outlined above is really just the stock kit. If the bike was older maybe add a set of pliers or something I want one of those wrenches for the rear nut that doubles up as a tire spoon, those and a couple of small buzetti would be perfect alas no hay en Chile :/

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
