My lad has just been offered an example of the above, the name is all he knows about it, other than that it's a 600cc V-twin. I have no knowledge of Hondas myself, can anyone tell me more about the type, please?

I think you will find that it is the Honda Transalp - at least that is what you tend to get if you google it. Kind of a heavier version of the Dominator. I used to have one, no major problems and rather comfortable I seem to remember.

Transalp
Hi,
The 600V is the Transalp and it is a very reliable and comfortable bike. We are in Ghana (Africa) at present and my girlfriend rides one. Honda changed it to a 650 in 2000. Safe Roads Frank |

I had one for a year or two and found it to be the sweetest bike Ive owned. Not fast or good round corners but solid as a rock and i mean totally solid. It was OK two up except for motorway riding due to it's 600cc, still it got us where we wanted with comfort and we loaded the machine to the hilt and the damn thing loved it.
I now ride a suzuki bandit 1200 and have had no end of messing about setting it up for touring due to poor build quality (suspension) and next year I'll be shopping for a new alp. for anything you need to know: http://www.ta-deti.de/ it's in english and will give you what you wnat to know |
