honda engine to fit XR 250
I'm trying to find out what engine can fit into an XR 250. Ive been told there are a few engines which may fit from other 250 single honda's but I don't know which ones.
Also if I find one would I have to change th wiring loom coil etc.. from the donor bike to the XR or will the engine just fit and go? Ive got a chance to buy and XR250 with a smashed engine that's all but don't want to spend the earth fixing it, I was hoping a cheap CD250 may fit. cheers

I may be wrong but a CD250 is possibly an ancient pre-SuperDream relic. The chances of it fitiing without a huge amount of engineering are negligible. I would suggest buying another XR250 engine from a specialist breaker - some advertise in TBM magazine.

Thanks but i tried a few breakers and xr engines are very hard to get and thus expensive so I ve finished with the XR project however I will swap my xt350 for an XR250 soon as possible as the xt's are pretty crap. guess my work shop will have to wait till spring when I get a big bike again.
