Honda AT exhaust pipe replacement

Hello!

My Honda AT -99 exhaust pipe has gotten quite a bit of rust on it. Especially both clamps are almost gone and have eated the metal underneath with them. Seems that I have to replace almost the whole thing as gas escapes the pipe system half way throug...

Now, does anyone have an original AT pipe system for sale in Finland? I would need the whole system all the way down from the cylinders.

Or any advice for a replacement pipe? I do not need more power but would not mind if the weight goes down a little bit.

Hello!

Do you guys know if RD07 year models -95 and -99 have interchangeable exhaust pipes?

I have -95 model availabe but would like to confirm before a purchase.

Hello!

I have still problems with my XRV750 RD07 1999 exhaust systems replacement. I need to change both downpipes and muffler but have not been able to find a suitable one. Original Honda parts are very expensive. Front down pipe alone costs more than 400 euros in Finland!!! http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/mad.gif

Aftermarkets parts, on the other hand, are hard to find. For example Arrow makes models up to 1998 bike - not for mine Sad

Simply said, I have not been able to find any alternatives for my bike!

Any ideas what to do? What muffler/ pipe system to look for and where?

Hello to Finland,

sorry, but I did not see this post earlier.

I ride an 1995 AT as well, but I just bought it in October and I am not so familiar with all the models yet.

The 1995 is an RD07, right, in 1998 it became the RD07a.

I think an aftermarket exhaust for the RD07 should fit the RD07a.

But I cant recommend any after market exhaust because I use the original.

In Germany it is not that difficult to find a used one over Ebay. But I live in Switzerland.

Do you want me to try to get some more information, posting you question at www.africatwin.de ??

Greetings Mika

As you probably know there are a lot of manufacturers making mufflers for the AT; Remus, Arrow and Lazer seem to be pretty popular. I have an RD07 with a BSM. The problem is the front down pipes. I have seen them come up on eBay from time to time, but I recently saw a post on www.xrv.org.uk/ with a link to a company that apparently make bespoke stainless kit fairly cheaply, certainly less than your quote of 400 Euros. Have a look at the discussion at http://www.xrv.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3361.

Good luck!

I have a muffler from my old 99 RD07A it was removed from the bike after 15000 miles in favour of a Remus. It has been in my shed for two and a half years and is in perfect condition..Let me know if you are still interested.
I'm in Ireland and postage here can be very expensive for heavy items.

Hello electric_monk,

I know you posted this way back in 2006 but is there any chance you still have the muffler available. Im based in Dublin. Thanks.
