Well, I have got one, 84,000 miles and only the usual consumables or problems of my own making after trying to various mods or add farkles. I reckon its got another 84,000 at least in it too.

Have a look on XRV.or.uk I am a regular there and this question gets asked a lot. The answer is always the same - no known problems, no real need to modify it, and look for a nice clean well maintained bike from an elderly gent who only uses it on sunny weekends. Honestly they are great bikes.

transalps engines are fairly robust, but check oil consumption.
Rear wheels rot really badly,
The reg/recs get too hot, heatsink them if you can, some even go for fan cooling using a computer fan.
The rear shock goes ropey, quite quickly (universal problem)

I have a really old, abused ta600/650 sidecar outfit, and as Brighty will confirm, They can go on interminably.

Honda TA

No known problems except for the CDI unit. Just google or Yahoo for it, you will come up with lots of information.

I own a 400ccm Honda TA model 1992 (Japanese market) and tell ya - going strong. I exchanged the fork springs (got some Wirth which are stiffer) and that's all.
