FALCON NX4: how hard to find parts in the UK/Europe?

Hi guys,

the falcon would be the ideal bike for me for my next big trip.

My biggest concern would be to find parts and prep up a bike that is not sold in Europe only, if understand well, in South America.

So, anyone in Europe has the falcon? How hard is it to find parts? Can we use parts from other models?

Thanks for letting me know. There are couple on sale in autotrader and it is tempting...

Cheers,

Firstly, it would be interesting to find out what interchangeable parts there are with other Hondas. You may find that wheel bearings are the same on a number, ditto caliper size and hence pad size, sprocket kits etc. Gaskets I would hope are simliar to the XR400 (is that what the Falcon lump is based on?). You get the idea...

Otherwise, try David Silver Spares as they have been very helpful when sourcing parts for my numerous prior grey imports.

Hi Maria

Rupert Marsden, who you may remember from Viedma, knows two Brit women he met on his first S. America trip who ride Falcons. They were at Ripley in '07 but I didn't see them last year. I'll ask him for their contact details, they're sure to know everything you want.

Regards, Mick

Thanks Mick, remember Rupert well.

Thanks also Wharthog! I sent an email that honda dealer but I didn't get any answer. Which is not reassuring. if I am in the middle of nowhere in Mongolia and I need stuff, and send emails, ideally you want at least a quick answer. I'll try to give them a call anyway.

It would be nice to know from brits travelling on the Falcons how it goes for parts. You would think many things woudl be interchangeable with other honda models...

Mick see you next week at Ted's BBQ? If not at the HUBB!

Cheers guys!

I spoke with couple of Honda dealers.

Parts in the UK are readily available as they are fairly standard and used in other Honda bikes, so bearings, gaskets, sprockets etc would not be a problem.

The only problem would be for body parts (plastic) as those are specific to the bike.

Ha ha!

Found the blog when I went to throw away my 2007 HU calendar and saw their August photo.

See you there!
