dropped valve
wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction, Ive got an XR250R (91) model which was imported from Japan. A valve dropped while I was out on it and has gone into the piston etc..
where can I get second hand parts or how can i fix this as honda are quoting me about £800 for the spare parts and that is probably worth the same as the bike before it blew up. can i get an engineering firm to rework the head head or does it have to be perfect etc.. according to honda. Are all xr350's the same of that year? |

If it's not too late, it's likely that someone on the 'Rides' egroup will be able to help you.
Most of the members are in the south of England and engine repair does get discussed from time to time. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/RidesOrgUK/ Hope this helps, Ian |

Try the specialist off road breakers advertising in TBM. You should not have to spend anywhere near £800.00.

Thanks for the reply, it was the XR 250 not 350 (typo!) and was not worth fixing, I got £200 for it as it was to a shop who have used the parts to fix/improve their own stock.
