New on here guys so go easy eh!

Right, the tale is as follows. 1997 had bike, wrote bike off thanks to a car bonnet......

Bought new bike, rode a while then bunged it in the shed.

Five years later I have wanderlust so want to get the bike back on the road.

Now.....the poor thing has not been fired up in all that time so needs a lot of tlc to get back in good nick. Rather than just bodge I`ve decided to strip the bike down, get the frame re-powdered and do the job properly.

My previous bike came in boxes so I have ok knowledge of building them but there are quite a few things I`ll need to ask assistance on.

Now, its not the newest bike in the world, in fact its a 1993 model, but it only has 18000 road miles on the clock.

I know that it would be easier to sell it and buy a new one but I do love the bike and feel that after all this time it deserves a decent trip or two. Also, money ain`t exactly flowing in copious amounts so a rebuild project over a few months is a damn sight easier on the pocket than walking into a showroom.


Anyway........after that long intro I`ll finally get to the point.

The laquer on the engine casings has flaked off and the ali oxidised. The initial thought was to get them re-laquered but I have since heard that engine paint will do as good a job. So, the mill needs blasting and spraying. I`ve read some very different reports as to the best stuff to use for the job. Products reccommended by some have been rubbished by others.

So, the long and short of it is....can anyone suggest a decent product please?
