Dommie bits / XR6

Still looking for an XR600R in good original condition with a decent engine.

In the meantime I've bought a 1989 Dominator, which had an intermittent electrical gremlin near the coil. I have torn the bike down and am just starting chassis modifications (subframe strengthening prior to frame and swingarm powder coat).

I do need some bits though. The bike needs a new shock and a full exhaust system, as well as the wheels rebuilding. All sorts of other sundries are required as well. Testament to Honda quality and a brilliant previous owner, the bike came apart - even the suspension linkages - without a single rounded bolt, stripped head, or swearword. Lovely.

Do you have any bits?
I think any XR wheels will fit (XRL / XR600R), so if you have some basket-case wheels can I buy the hubs? Do you have any plastics for this bike?

Nice project!

I wonder why you have choosen to use an XR6 engine and not an Dommie? I remember the dommie engine to be much smoother on low revs. So it would bee more forgiving if you have the wrong gear

I think it is adviseble not to use XR6 hubs/wheels because of the lack of cush? drive. Ceeping the dommie would give your transmission a easier life.

Still looking for any good Dommie bits - esp. overlanding type stuff. Also general 2nd hand bike stuff (bars / big pegs / brushguards). Most important are SHOCK, and EXHAUST CAN.
