Dominator cutts off-Please help

I have recently bought NX 650 and when I am riding and whant to change gear I pull the clutch and close the trottle and engine cutts off,if i rev it in idle or close trottle when it is in gear it wont cutt off, when i put idle on 1600rpm wont cutt off, when idle is on 1500rpm cutts of sometimes,i think that is something with electronics,I hope that you will understand because i am not very good in English

cutting out

it could be the electrics, but it could also be a blocked pilot jet in the carb, I suspect it will go onto the mains at 1500rpm, worth striping and blowing through with compressed air.

NX650 bad idle

Don't worry about the english, we understand the bike talk. If you take the bottom off the carburator....the float bowl..... you will see a brass jet with a large hole in it and a smaller diameter jet with a small hole in it. Clean the smaller one till you can see thru it and try running the bike again. Also check where the carb bolts onto the engine. any air leaks there will cause the engine to have a weak idle. Another thing is to check the spark plug cap. It can break down internaly, it should have around 5K ohms resistance.

I think I didnt explain well, bike is working fine on idle, only when i am riding and when i want to change gear i pull the clutch and when I return trotlle engine cuts off,if i return trotlle while in gear it wont cutts off, when i set idle on 1600rpm it wont cutts off either while changing gear(it is US model)

Nx650

Weird problem, I am just leaving for work (honda/yamaha shop) I will do some research to see if there is something electrical to check. Where in the world is Novi Sad?

cdi

try the choke setting from your description it could be that or the cdi, any honda shop will check it in 5 mins for nothing.

I had a simular problem a while back and it ended to be the choke, mine is an XR so same engine almost.

Faulty side-stand switch (or switch on clutch?)

If you loose clutch out with side-stand down, and in gear, the engine will cut out (to stop you pulling away with stand down). Can't remember if it is an electrical switch on clutch which cuts the engine, or the sidestand switch, so check both.

Same problem!!! '96 Dominator

G-Tec, I am s glad you asked your question. I have recently started having the same problem! So I know exactly what you are talking about.
Bike idles fine, but gearing down and slowing down - clutch in, throttle off - stall. Restart in slow traffic, amble a little forward, clutch in, throttle off - stall.
At higher speeds/more throttle the bike is fine (so need to plan a trip on which I don't have to slow down or stop :) )

Both CDI and side stand switch have been checked & are working fine.

The various diagnoses so far:

Moisture in the wiring
Faulty ignition
Bad fuel
A carb problem

Martync - what would you recommend with the choke? Is there a setting located near the manual choke lever that can be adjusted? (maybe it is too loose?).

G-tec - I know of 3 Dommie owners who have commented on the stalling at low revs. I had it when I first got my bike too, but it was much less often that what both you and I have been experiencing lately. A slightly higher idle speed seems to be fairly normal for Dominators (from what I can gather).
Have you managed to sort your bike out?
