Comfort seat Africa Twin

Looking for a new seat to my AT. I want something that has a little more comfort, and if possible, a little taller. Only one I have found is the one from Touratech, but it seems too much alike the original one. Any suggestions out there?

Try throwing a sheepskin over the seat...Very comfortable and it does put you up a little bit higher. Damned sight cheaper than TT or any of the other options

There are a few custom seat makers that will remake ones for you (here in the UK).. Go over to the XRV.ORG.uk site and they will tell you more
Off the top of my head there is CM seats (whom i had a bad experience with) Home
, or PP New P&P Seat Layout
or
Welcome to Custom Motorcycle Seats who may actually be cm seats

or Tony Archer in Huddersfield. ( Just google "Tony Archer" to see)

Baglux UK

Of course there is always an airhawk

Bykebitz Motorcycle Accessories - UK importers for AIRHAWK

but my suggestion is make your own- here is how i did it...
New New Seat

good luck

Whatever you do, make sure the changes don't raise the seat height any more!

Got to agree ......

.... with "Electric Monk" - that's what I did. Got me a nice lamb-skin (from this company, because they had the best $$$ deal: New Zealand sheepskin rugs, lambskin rugs, medical sheepskins).

Had to shave off some of the hair, trimmed it to the height and size that I wanted for my Honda TransAlp and it is just perfect.

Especially for the g.f.'s backside (not to mention mine) - what a relief!! And it can be used for many other things, too - sleeping in a tent, putting it under (or even in) the sleeping bag, sitting on a bench, and so much more. Just give it a try!

The touratech one is just fine. I hate the idea of buying one new as they're not cheap but they're flat, soft enough and thin enough to stand for long periods of time offroad without compromising the overall comfort. Loved it.

13,000miles UK to CapeTown. Tested.

Sheep Skin

Hi there Omar!

As for me, I just pushed it under the strap between the driver and pillion and put the extending parts of the skin under the seat. If you want to prevent it from sliding (I didn't have that problem as of yet) you could glue some "anti-sliding-material" (like the one you use for carpets) on the skin.

I will try to send you a picture of my solution either today or tomorrow (just too darned busy).
