1) What is the diameter of the XR600R fork stanchions? If I buy XR600 forks to increase travel and off-road ability on my Dommie will I have to get the yokes as well? I'm not bothered about the mudguard mountings.
I am assuming that the caliper and disc are interchangeable; as far as I can tell the XR, the NX and the XRL all share wheels? Is this true? 2) Are the front and rear hubs interchangeable on the NX and the XR? There are lots of 2nd hand XR wheelsets but none for the Dommie! I think there may be no cush-drive on the XR. I am building a pair of RTW wheels with black Excel rims and I need some donor hubs. I am going to 18" on the rear for more off-road tyre choice. 3) Finally, does anyone have access to XR650L and NX650 'fiches? I want to know if the swingarm is the same (mine's a 1989 Dommie) so that I know if a Mich' Desert will fit into my Dommie. |

Sorry!!! But No....
1) Different diameter. You will need to use also the triple clamps from the XR. Change all together as a complete unit.
2) The caliper and disc aren’t interchangeable; as far as I can tell the XR R/L, and the NXs doesn’t share wheels. 3) The swingarms are different The NXs is common steel and shorter to the XRs that is Aluminium and longer to fit with the 18’ wheel also the rear suspension links shock (longer) and places to hold on the bike are different and also doesn’t work on the middle axle from the bike. Months a go was other post asking the same Try to use the search function, maybe more data on there. Javier… www.dakarmotos.com |

For bike fiches, try bikebandit.com. They seem to have a set of online fiches for the vast majority of bikes. This is the NX650 rear fork:
