air filters, paper of foam?

Its anything that can be said for the type of filter in dusty sahara like conditions?

Ie what be prefered, paper- or foam type filter in terms of maintenance, filter effectiveness, lifecycle?

Some people get very religious about this topic - but the majority seem to think that foam filters are superior and easier to deal with.

What type of bike is it for?

Hi Gozell,

If you find anything, please leave a post as it would help me alot. I am about to take my Dommie across Asia and haven't got any spare air filters yet.
I was thinking of taking a foam one where I can wash it clean and re-use. It'll be quite dusty in some of the areas I am going.

Thanks

On http://www.eikholt.net/dommi/index.htm
there is a section called

"ADDED a self made Airfilter instruction"

which describes how to DIY a foam filter for a NX650
