Hi Renato,

The '93 AfricaTwin is type RD07, i used to have one (i now have a '97 RD07a).

There are no big technical differences between the RD07 ('93-'95) and the RD07a('96-now), They all have the tripmaster.
The suspension is different: The RD07 has airsupported front forks (with airvalve) and adjustable rebound on the rear shock. The RD07a is not adjustable (only preload on the rear).

The headlight-fairing and windshield are different and the seat is supposed to be improved... after 35.000km on my RD07a i still haven't noticed how...

As far as i know the RD07 models are less likely to have fuelpump problems aswell, mine had 75.000 on it when i got a nice Suzuki Alto bumper print in the side, and the pump never failed me. On the RD07a it allready died twice (!)

You can get loads of info on the AT at: http://www.atic.org/
(nice mailinglist!)

And: http://www.africatwin.de/
(very active forum, in German)

Hope to have helped you a little, the AT is a realy great bike!!! You can do allmost annything with it!

thanks Jeroen!

What about fuel consumtion? I heard they are a bit thirsty...
Are there any triks to improve this?
I am looking at a 60.000 AT in good shape for 2750 Euros what do you think? good price or should I try to find one cheaper?

Under "normal" conditions I use 5 liters or less on 100 Km (1 on 20)... but rough driving come's with rough thurst http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

I haven't got a clue about the price... I got my RD07a from '96 for a litle over 7000 euro (a year ago).

And.. yes.. like Jeroen says: It's a great bike (except for the seat)

2750 Euro's is a VERY small price, it would make me a bit curious about the bike's history..
My '97 was 7500 E 1,5 year ago

Maybe it is an accident bike?

My own '93 wreck was tidied up and sold for 5900 E with 75000 km on it (also 1,5 years ago)
