Rob Munn (HUBB: XRM)

Motorcycle-riding tourist dies in crash on Dalton Highway: Rural Alaska | Alaska news at adn.com

This was posted in the Highland Mini Meet thread by 'mrsibanda' - thanks for doing that. I've opened a new thread because a lot of folk won't necessarily read the mini meet thread.

Rob was a lovely bloke, last time we spoke to him was at Ripley and he was really looking forward to this trip.

Our thoughts go out to his wife Anne and the rest of their family at this very difficult time.

R.I.P and ride free...

Rob was at my home and we spent time talking about his upcoming trip just a few weeks ago before he set off. He was a bloke with a great sense of humour and a good friend he will be sadly missed.

My thoughts go to Anne and family.

Jake.

For information Rob Munns Funeral will be held at Dunfermline Crematorium -1.15 Monday 22nd August. I have spoken to Rob's son who has said Friends from the Horizons group would be welcome if they wish to attend.
I regret I will be away from Saturday and can not attend at such short notice.
Robs wife Anne is as well as can be expected in the circumstances and is back home now, she has minor bruising and a broken rib.

This is very sad - Rob was one of the few that made this years Highland Mini Meet. We have met up with Rob a few times - he was the first to welcome us at Ripley this year and was looking forward to the big trip.

We would just like to say our thoughts are with you Anne.

Terrible news, my thoughts are with his friends and family.

That section of the Dalton can be very slick. Along with the general road conditions due to the weather, they apply something like of calcium chloride to the road to keep down the dust and in certain conditions it makes it even more difficult to ride.

We've just heard this terrible news and are deeply shocked. We have known Rob for a few years and met up with him at various meets as well as at his & Anne's house for bacon rolls before many runs. We've had great times and conversations with them both and know how much they loved travelling by bike and how long they had been looking forward to this trip. Our prayers go out to Anne and the family at this time,

Beej & Chris

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
