I am moving from Colombia, now at the Ecuador/ Peru border, towards Bolivia. I want to sell the bike somewhere close to Bolivia/Argentina border, however, everything is possible. We can also drive it to Buenos Aires if you need and change the ownership at the border with Uruguay.

I bought it with 24,000 km's on the clock, so far I have brought it up to 39,000, and by the time I finish up back in Colombia there will be maybe 55,000-60,000km's on the clock. I outfitted it with 42 liter side panniers and a 39 liter back box, all of quality manufacture, and also engine protection (makes a nice footrest too!), a main stand which does not come with the bike, hand guards, and I am still on the hunt for a windshield. The bike has never been crashed, but has been dropped twice, once on each side, the bike has no marks but the panniers (aluminium) have a couple of scratches, but are solid. The bike is in great running order, I bought from a Colombian friend, all original parts.
The price at the moment is 9.5 Million Colombian Pesos (the million scared me too!), ready to go with basic tools. Paperwork to change over the name for me took about a week.
I know this is an early post, but I know my timeframe to finish. I don't expect anyone to commit now, just a bit of info for ye searchers out there, and if anyone out there is planning a trip it might help you to have a plan of attack.
The XT600 is a perfect bike for all the challenges that South America throws at you, light enough for any 'road' you come across down here, but powerful enough for a long-haul trip.

The bike is standard, condition is new (one can eat on the sprocket - never been in the rain and did all its mileage in a few days only - mostly on motorway, always had high octane petrol in it - this is better for the combustion chamber as explosion is more diffuse), warranty cover for the next 18 months, has immobilizer and all keys + papers.
It has 1196 miles today but might take another 50 by the time it is sold.

I am looking to purchase a Kawasaki KLR 650 that is fully set up for adventure travel. I.e panniers, long range tank, saddle bag, spares & tools kit....etc...

Particularly, I am interested in a bike with extensive modifications for off-road use, one that can be "pushed" a little in Africa, when the oppurtunity presents itself.

I am a UK citizen and as such would ideally like to purchase this bike in the UK, with intention to travel Europe>West Coast Africa>South Africa.

However, I would very much consider purchasing a bike in western Europe, as long as transferring ownership etc, was not to much of a hassle. I am currently in Norway, and will be until April/May 2010, and I would thus ideally like to purchase the bike around April to June 2010.

I realise this is "thinking a bit ahead" but thought if others were ending trips around this time, they may be interested.
