Wii Fi connectivity

:confused1:I have had so many conflicting answers to the question of Wii fi availability in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. Could somebody with first hand experience enlighten me.
My ride takes in 17 countries in all. I will be carrying a net book to hopfully make daily blog and pics onto my web site This to encourage people to donate to the breast cancer charity during my trip www.solobiketour4cancer.com
I need to know if I can get wii fi in the more remote parts of Norway ,Lapp and Finland.
If I bought a Norwegean dongle for example would that cover ALL of Norway including Nordd Kap.
I will be camping most of Scandinavia to keep costs down. Estonia ,Latvia Lith etc will be cheaper so no real problems there. Any advise or suggestions will be apperciated. Jules The Chef

Hi Jules,

Firstly for WiFi you won't need a 'dongle' as you put it, your netbook will already come WiFi equiped.:thumbup1:

There are some free WiFi and payed WiFi hotspots. Try first for the Free WiFi hotspots.

JIWIRE is a website that will help you see all the 'known' WiFi spots in the world.

You can usually subscribe to WiFi hotspots in country. This would be cheaper in the long run then the alternative of having a 3G moible device when roaming.

Hope this helps :cool4:

Did a similar trip last year, almost all campsites in Norway had free Wifi.
we struggled to find any Wifi in Northern Finland, we entered from the north and the first campsite that we managed to find it in was in Turku.

Most of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania was fine ... stayed in a mix of camping/hotels. They all did Wifi but it wasn't always free, we just got it every few days when it was either free or cheap.

Poland/Hungary/Slovakia/Romania etc. all fairly similar.

Thanks fellas, useful info there. I will be prepared to accept that I may not be able to blog every night. As long as the family at home know that, there wont be a panic if I dont log in every day

bit further west

Just done a 8500 mile trip thru the USA to some far away places with a Toshiba notebook. Virgin Dongle and 6600 people watching my blog.
The dongle was complety useless, WiFi at most hotels slowwwwwww, and McDonalds WiFi better than most. The notebook was an issue being a small GB unit. I couldn.t download ANY of the 40 x SD cards of video until I got home ...... don;t expect too much from roaming WiFi..... Pete
