Question Where do get Metzeler tire in Turkey?

Hello HU Community!

It's my first post here, so

This summer I'm planning to travel from Switzerland to the Caspian Sea through the Balkans, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Iran und back to Switzerland

Now, I need to change my rear tire somewhere in Turkey. Does anyone know a Metzeler dealer in Turkey who can do that for me? I'm travelling on a Yamaha TDM850.

Otzerwise I'll start the trip with two brand new ones, this should do it for the trip. My route is about 13k Kilometers.

Thank you for any input!
Michael

G'day! When in Antalya last year, I went to the BMW dealership, which is on the main road into town from the East. One of the guys there gave me directions to the Tyre shop, then changed his mind and led me there. They do Metzler....
Cheers, Bootlace.

This sounds great! Unfortunately, Antalya is pretty South... I'm planning to go across the country and on the Black Sea shore. But thank you!

Hi zakidos

I bought a TDM 850 last year with overlanding in mind. Let us know how you get on especially in Turkey as thats where I want to go. (watch out for speed checks as the fines are nasty)

Try the BMW dealership in Istanbul - they will either have something and if not will know where to get some.

Hi Zakidos,

The main distributor for Metzeler is Lapas. (Lapaþ) You can find their distributors in any region from Yetkili Saticilarimiz (Dealers) webpage. There is a drop-down list of cities of the dealers.

Usually most dealers dont have all sizes in their stock. It usually takes 1-2 days to have the tires from Istanbul. Also, It is wise to ask Lapas whether they have the tires or not in their stock. You can find their contact details at the Iletisim Page. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Ozgur

Thank you everyone for their input. I'll check with Lapas and the BMW dealer in Istanbul, this should be fine so far.

Contact the HU Turkey community. They'll give you specific dealers to get a hold of tire you need. There are many "lastik" shops around.

I used Buz Motors...
