Van parking in north east Scotland August 2007
Hi
Myself and a couple of friends are riding in Iceland this August. We’ll drive to north Scotland in a van with the bikes in the back. Our ferry goes from Scrabster near Thurso. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to park the van safely for 3 weeks from Tues 7th Aug to Mon 27th August 2007. Anywhere within a 50 mile radius would be preferable. Obviously it’s taxed, MOTed and insured, so I can park it virtually anywhere, but it would be nice if it were still there when we get back. Having said that, it’s old and pretty scabby looking, so unless you work on a building site and are a thief, you’re unlikely to want to steal it. There won’t be anything of value stored in it while it’s unattended. Thanks for any leads, Ride safely Chris

Van parking
I reckon if you ask at any of the hotels they may let you leave it with them or just look for a back street in Thurso and call in at the local polis station and tell them. ( Not a huge amount of crime up north). I am riding from the Scotttish borders in July to go to Iceland. have a good trip.
