Tires lost in transit in Turkey, need help

We shipped 3 sets of Mefos tires from Holland to Trabzon by means of TNT Post. They show as arrived in Turkey April 16, but no trace from there on out of where they are. TNT Post says they have no idea where they are. Does anybody have any experience with shipping things into Turkey to have any idea of where they may be located or stuck. I suspect customs (douane), but I do not know if this is in Istanbul, Ankara, Trabzon, or what.

I know this is not much information, but we are getting desperate to locate these tires, since they are crucial for our continued travel to Mongolia.

Is there anybody who has any idea what I can do?

Hello Karst,

Probably they stuck in the customs. You may learn more if you call the TNT in Turkey. (4440868 but i guess u need to dial + 90 212 or 216 in front of it) If you have problem calling Turkish TNT or problem on communication, send me the info about your package, I could call them for you and try to learn where your tires are.

Cheers,
Ozgur

Ozgur, thanks for your quick reply and offer to help. I just got a message that my tires arrived at their destination. After a week of worrying we can scratch that one of the list.

Also got a message from Denis that our Russian tires shipped for Novosibirsk.

Life is good.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
