Question I can't get Russian visa

Hi,
Is there anyone who has a good info about getting Russian visa?

I try to get a Russian visa in Greece. Because I'm on the way in my trip. But the Russian consulate in Greece said that they will issue the visa only for the Greece residents.

I'm living in Japan, so I have to go to Russian consulate in JAPAN, they said!

I called other Russian consulates, but no connection (wrong number?) or no English (They could not speak English).

Someone said Russia changed the rule from this year. So it's difficult. Is it true?

Please give me a good idea or info to get a Russian visa in Europe or somewhere.

If you go in London, they ask you for proof of residency. If you can get a bill of some type in a country, they will be happy with it (and they don't examine the bill too closely - just look for a local address).

You should go to the consul of Japan in Greece and ask him to name you the letter of the Russian consul with the request to help you with reception of the visa.
It is normal for the majority of the African countries

No. nothing like a bribe. Not in Russia!
By a bill, I meant gas, electricity, water bill.

Thank you very much for the help!
I could get Russian VISA!

Just writing a local address in the form.

They didn't ask anything about the residence. (Greece, Jul/2007)
