Southern Ireland At Easter

Hi chaps & chapesses,

i've not been on here much what with work & dull things like fixing bikes rather than riding them. but myself & a mate are considering jumping on the hollyhead - dublin ferry at easter & going exploring.
we've got a few concerns though, being as ireland is more religious than the uk (so i believe anyway) will we be ok getting petrol out the the wilds during easter? and is 4 days enough to really see much of the place? my understanding is their mainroads are like b-roads here, much more fun but we'll do less miles in the time.
basicly, talk us into it please

Don't worry.

You'll have no bother getting petrol over the Easer period, it may be a religous period but the mighty Euro runs all, so the petrol stations will be open in bigger towns & villages for definite! Where are you planning to ride?
The weather at the moment has been quite good & hopefully it'll hold out.
Let us know how you get on or if you've any questions.

Robs.

cheers for that chaps, its nice to know we wont be stuck looking at a ferry port all weekend. i'll be riding my GSX1400 & my mate will be on his R6.

Any must rides, or must sees to suggest? obviously we're going to look at guidebooks & the web etc but its often worth asking here.

If your landing into Dublin and you have just 4 days then I suggest you could do a few city sights in Dublin. If you are not a city person then you could be in Cork in three to four hours and then travel gently to west Cork and Kerry and perhaps take the ferry across the shannon to County Clare and ride the coast up to Galway before making a bee line back to Dublin for your ferry. The west of Ireland is really scenic anywhere from Cork to Donegal. Enjoy!
