Serving F800GS between Wales and Germany

Hello all,

My wife and I are making our way east on an F800GS from Wales in a few days, hoping to reach southeast asia eventually, and want to get the bike serviced before we get past Germany. Does anyone have any recommendations on good places to get a GS serviced anywhere between Wales and Germany? I'm a yank so I don't know much about the relative prices for parts/labor around Europe. Or whether BMW service shops are any better/worse than independent mechanics. Nothing to hard. New tires, oil/filter, air filter, chain/sprockets, checking brakes and other wearables, etc. Ideally I could schedule my visit so that we'd be in an out in a day.

Assuming a sort of straight line from Wales thru southern Germany, it's ~850
miles between, e.g. Bristol UK to Munich.
There are many more BMW dealers in Germany; they're likely to have tires,
and all parts necessary, even if paying "more" than an independent
You're also riding in height of season, so advance appointment likely
necessary, to match your itinerary/ schedule with dealer availability.
All BMW dealers in Germany listed here:
BMW Motorrad Deutschland,
(click on "Ihr BMW Partner" brings up map; clicking on region brings up
dealer list & contact info).
Specific suggestion from personal experience:

Fahrzeughaus Stilgenbauer GmbH & Co. KG
Von-Humboldt-Str. 7
64646 Heppenheim
Tel.: 06252 75355
Homepage: BMW Motorrad Stilgenbauer | Startseite
(southbound from Frankfurt, just off main autobahn A5; does most of the
work for Yank riders keeping bikes in Heidelberg at www.knopftours.com)
call ahead for appt. availability
but there are many to choose from

get your service work done in Wales/ UK before you leave
dealers also throughout Austria
BMW Motorrad Österreich
or, even wait and get your service done by BMW dealer in
Turkey/ Istanbul
Borusan Otomotiv İthalat ve Dağıtım A.Ş
İstinye Mah. Sarıyer Cad. No.77 , 34460 Sarıyer, İstanbul
+90 212 359 30 60
BMW Motorrad Türkiye

good luck
