Serbia,Bosnia,Kosovo

I have been traveling across Russia Ukraine and Moldova and then down to Varna in Bulgaria for a rest with Friends
Next week I will go to Bucharest to get the bike serviced and then do the TransAlpina and maybe the Tranfargasan again as it was raining last year.
I would like more driving on good mountain roads to make up for boring bad straight Russian roads and have heard Serbia and Bosnia are good
Any recomendations on places or roads to visit.
Also is there still a problem with Kosovo borders as I need to pass to Macedonia after
Thanks

hm almost there was never a problem for anybody from foreign countries in kosov border, you just need to pay 15 euro theirs internal green card ;) if you want nice mountain roads, come to montenegro , and if you go thru macedonia, it will be boring, but go to ohrid, extremely nice lake town, and then head to albania via elabsan tirana, twisty mountains all the time

Recently did a tour down that way & enjoyed the road from Sarajevo to Trebinje via Foca & the road from Tirane/Elbasan/Pogradec/Korce to Florina. Traffic was very light but this was in May.

I did Pogradec/Korce/Florina (GR) last week on my Super Ténéré 1200 and traffic was still light, good roads with only one police checkpoint but they stopped a car, not me.
Friendly and hospitable people all the way.

I enjoyed also a lot, in Bosnia, the mountain road from Zvornik to Srebrenica to Bajina Basta (SRB), even if the tar is not perfect, but suitable to any kind of motorcycle.
I spent one hour or little more at the Memorial of the Genocide of Srebrenica-Potocari because I am much interested in the history of the Balkan Wars of the '90s and it was time well wasted even if very sad, if you know what happened there in 1995.

I found Macedonia a lovely place, I'm happy you'll visit it, I'd come back to that Country immediately!

Interesting your comments re-attitude to motorcycles, we similarly came across a closed road which appeared to be in the process of being re-made with just the base cobbles in place. The guard lifted the barrier and waved us through saving a long detour.
I think motor cycles are a great leveller in terms of social positioning & also people seem to appreciate the effort you have made to be there when they see the the country plate on the bike.
