Safe parking place for bikes in Istanbul

Hello there,
I will be in Istanbul around mid/end of November, is there a SAFE place where I can leave my bike in town for a period up to 2 weeks? A guarded parking or a private garage and not too expensive?
I thought I could get a separate parking for my bike as I probably wont use it very much for these two weeks.
Thank you in advance.

Why not leave at the airport?...If you will be flying back home, guess it will be easier to pick it back.

If i recall correct ... 15 days is around 80 €.

Another option is to leave your bike at services or mechanics. Most of the dealers, second hand shops, or brand representatives (of bmw, honda, suzuki) never hesitate to look after your bike. You can easily access them through a google search. If you still need detailed info like addresses send me a PM so that I can provide more.

Hello
Dependng on which part of town you will stay you should be able to find a covered garage.
There are bike specific ones as well. I remember one in Etiler region, may be too far to your hotel. (Istanbul = 12 Million = immense)

I am not sure if you can park your bike and leave the country without it though. You may be asked to leave it to the customs. Check before if you plan on leaving your bike and fly home for a while.
Best of lucks with your trip.

Hello there,
thank you all for your kind replies.
I am planning to stay in Istanbul for about 2 weeks but will not leave the country, I thought it would be good to know my bike is in safe place for all period if I am not going to use it.
Also having a safe parking would give me more freedom in finding accommodation as I wont need an hotel with carpark.

Hi Alex,

If I were you I wouldn't look for private parking and so on in Istanbul (city of wolves)..
Cozcan's idea of leaving the bike to an authorized dealer (yamaha store in your case) is an option..
I did that once in Istanbul. The Honda shop at Yenikoy. Left my Honda for 2 days. Didn't ask for money. Nice people.. Yours is a Yamaha.. So I dont know..

You might also want to check out these OMM or EMOK guys.. I don't know anyone of that group but they are listed in "Helpful people en route" and they are in Istanbul. ( http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/links/#Helpful )

By the way the question comes to my mind..
You're going to stay in Istanbul for 2 weeks and NOT GOING TO USE your bike..

WHY ? ? :-)

Safe roads..

Find the Hostel you like, and then look for parking...there are plenty of secure lots around Sultanhamet...the locals will let you know if its a security issue or not.
March 2007, I parked my K in front of a Sultanhamet Hostel for 3 weeks while I processed visas and toured...

Not an issue...also contact the Horizons Unlimited Istanbul community for help...VERY VERY helpful.
