Round black things

Hi Folks,
I am in a the Hotel St Georges hotel, in a wee town known as Bagnol Sue Ceze. I am in need of a new rear tyre for the Pan. Can anyone suggest a good tyre outlet/workshop, where I may be able to get the boot changed on Monday 6th ?
I have an Avon, of some description on at present, but it has less than 5000 miles on it and it is down to the wear indicators. I don't mind covering some miles in order to get the job doe, but can any inmates give me some ideas ?

Best wishes to all,
Gav.

The town I'm in is just north of Avignon, in the south of France. I see from your message that you're from Rockhampton, so, unless you have been in France recently, I suspect that your knowledge of heaps of tyre shops might not be of much use to me. Thanks anyway mate.
Cheers,
Gav.

Go to a motorbike shop ? France has loads of them.

Google shows three bike shops in Bagnol sur Ceze.

You're not exactly "out in the sticks" there so shouldn't be any problem at all.

Most of them selling scooters or 50s, however, Avignon is a big place and there are a lot of bike shops that should be able to sort you out. I generally use
http://www.mynetmoto.com/ or PNEUS ONLINE - Pneus, Pneu, Pneus en ligne, Pneus discount, Pneus pas cher, Pneus auto both of whom deliver in 2 days

Hi Gav
Might I politely suggest that just because somebody has as their location "Rockhampton" they may actually have recently travelled beyond the city limits of that particular town. Asking for advice and then telling people they wouldn't possibly know the answer could be perceived as a little short-sighted.

Good luck in your search for finding a tyre for a bike that was imported into Europe in your location close to a large French town.

So I guess telling someone in western Australia where to buy tyres in south of France wont be of much use

As has been said before, There are motorcycle shops all over France, Just ask the hotel for the yellow pages part of the phonebook. Pages Jaune de l'annuaire.:)

The reason I worded it that way because you gave no indication of which country you were in. You don't say what bike, nor what size of tyre you want or where you intend to use it. All of this info would have been handy in your OP.

If you want some help, then please help us in helping you.

As it now turns out, you are in France, I am sure there are a million(slightly exaggerated) bike shops in that country or just down the road in Germany so I can't see you having any great problem. Most of the Metzlers are made in Germany, so they are not far away.

Good luck
TS

Michelin

Less than 300km north is Clermont Ferrand where a firm called Michelin has its main production base and test facilities, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Ride up through the Cevennes and the Massif Central, jaw dropping riding and countryside. Rough camp and swim in the more remote ravines.
Enjoy
