Ride for two weeks in Sweden
 

Hi,

I'm going to Sweden for two weeks this summer and I'm looking for a cheap way to do some bike touring.

I'm thinking about trying to find someone who could sell me a used bike (500 - 800 cc)
and buy it back when I'm done with it. (Something like a BMW F650 or MZ Skorpion would be perfect ...)

Is this realistic? Has it been done before?
Anyone got any contacts in Stockholm? I've got a friend in Stockholm who can help me out ... but he doesn't know anything about bikes.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Haven't heard of it being done in Sweden before, but it has been done elsewhere lots of times.

Have your friend find out where the shops are and just go visit them when you get there.

You may take a substantial hit on the deal - remember they want full profit on BOTH sales so are buying back from you at wholesale - but compare it to the cost of a rental and it will probably be a very good deal.
