Registering a German bike in NL????

Any of you know what the story is with buying a bike in Germany and registering it in the Netherlands?

I'm looking at buying a GS and if it's worth the trouble I'd broaden my search to Germ. to give me a greater choice./ price?

I'd don't speak dutch otherwise I'd post this on the Dutch GS site

Cheers

I did some inqueries some time ago about importing a bike from the UK and it is very easy.
If it is already regitered in the EU, you just must make sure that you have all the right papers with the bike and the numbers match. For the rest it is just paperwork.

You have to pay tax first.
You can find out about that on http://www.douane.nl/english/bpm-pr.html

Then you have to register it. More about that at this site:
http://www.rdw.nl/nl/voertuigeigenaa...ng_the_rdw.htm

Then you get a registrationnumber and can order a license plate with that number.
After you arranged the 3th party insurance (mandatory) and you are ready to ride.
That should be all.

Good luck
