Registering a bike in Greece/Albania

Hey - another question (its flood the HUBB day for me as I plan out the next chapter of my life)! When I got the bike, I really wasnt sure what I was doing, so I only got a 3 month export licence in germany (with the amazing help of Stefan Knopf!) This will expire mid December.

Has anyone had any experience registering a bike in Albania or in Greece? I have a friend in Albania who I think could register it in her name with me - and I dont really have any friends in Greece, but am searching though family and friends now.

Thanks!
Tim

Tim,
Registering the bike in Albania may incur import duty, not sure on this just a guess, as it is not part of the EU.
Not sure about Greece either, but my guess it's possible with a address.
Could you ask Stefan to extend the registration or get a full German registration?

Also I see from other threads you intend to continue you travels. If so you could be making things difficult if it is not registered in your name. Could make applying and using CDP a problem also.

Can you register it when you go home at Xmas.

Make sure the engine numbers and chassis numbers get recorded correctly.

Ok the story on my bike. IT is a Honda Africa Twin - which makes it pretty damn hard to register in the US...Im going to try when I go home, but technically its not allowed as it is not street legal.

I currently have Export plates on it, so I will have to pay tax either in the EU if I re-register it here, or import tax if I register it in another country. The bike is 15 years old so its not worth a hell of a lot, but its something.

Stefan told me that I needed to have the bike there in person to register it again in Germany. It is possible, but only if I can drive back to Heidelberg which is a bit too far and too cold to do.

Can you register it in 2 peoples names?
