quick advice wanted please
 

Have been offered a ready for mot honda 1983 cb250n motor bike for £200.
Do yo think this will be a reasonable big to transport me around europe with luggage etc
I am big guy but am more interested in comfort than speed as i m always stopping to take photographs.
it is supposed to have a reputation for reliability, although i am worried about spares etc.
Alternatively it will cost me some £250 to get my honda 90 on the road,(posted about elsewhere).
i would appreciate your honest comments as i need to make the decision within a few days!

That's the superdream from the '80s.

Don't know much about them in truth; my brother in law had one (they were used a lot for commuting) and I rode it once - nice enough, but in those days I wanted something bigger!

Spares: David Silver in the UK can do spares for just about any Honda - a search will bring up their online site.

Obviously it is bigger than the C90 and it will, therefore, do the job - needs to be a "good one" at that age - mileage, how it has been treated etc etc.

The old superdream?, affectionatly known as wetdream, due to there weight/power ratio and rather heavy for there 250cc's. I once read that if they were left standing for any period of time the alternator/rotor gave up the ghost, so check that it charges etc and if you are happy with it and it has no camchain rattles or any other unwelcome noises then at £200 it's worth 'a go'. If you are in europe and insured by 'Carol Nash' you are also covered by their breakdown/recovery service. If all else fails, at £200 it's not the end of the world you can just 'park it up' and walk away from it. I have found that all vehicles and in particular Japanese ones benefit from regular oil changes, my aircooled CRF230 has oil changes before, or up to every 600 miles as recomended by Honda(no oil filter only a mesh). If you decide to buy it for your trip, have a good time.:thumbup1:

[well I am about to go and get her..long time since drove a bigger honda than a 90.last one was one with square pots that came in the 1960's.mind you those days i was driving velocette vemon lol seems she has done some 29000 miles and is rattle free..been kept in a garage and is running..so hopefully not to many problems!

Now ill have to do a new post for fitting it out over the winter lol
