Petrol in Turkey

Why is petrol so expensife in Turkey. From my calculations it looks like the going rate is about £1.40 a litre.

Seems a vast amount compared to everywhere else in the region (or possibly the world)

Yipes, and I thought the UK is expensive; here the tax is about 2/3 the pump price.
Is there any discount for tourists/travellers in Turkey??!

ozhanu 6 Feb 2008 21:43

sorry dave,

no discount for tourists/travellers. uk is a bit cheaper i think. it was something like 93 p/iter when i used to live there.

despite the expensive fuel price, other things are cheap here. so, you not gonna spend more then you do in europa.

hope to see you here

Here is why?

Why is petrol in Turkey so expensive?

Because the majority use LPG.

ozhanu 8 Feb 2008 15:17

vice versa Nixa. you got the point but from the wrong side.

the correct form is:

"many people use LPG in their cars, because it is cheaper then the petrol" ;)

i think, LPG is cheaper then petrol all over the world.
