UK Insurance...again

I am English living in denmark. I have a danish issued driving licence and not a uk issued licence.

I want to buy a bike in the UK and it will be kept at my brothers full time and registered there in my name.

I want to come over for a couple of weeks in the summer to ride.

Now for the question

How do I get short term insurance and not yearly insurance?
Can I get insurance with my danish issued licence?

Forget about insurance when it is standing there doing nothing as I may bring it back with me.

Does anyone know of any good online insurance companies.

Steve

Hi Steve,

I don't know whether you'd be eligible if not a resident, but lots of people swear by eBike Insurance - Welcome to eBike Insurance and they do have a Pay as you Go Monthly insurance product. I'd do an online quote request and see if they will accept your circumstances.

My two bikes are insured with them and the online policy management is excellent.

Regards
Rob

ebike are good for providing cover, But when it all went wrong for my missus with them. They were useless.
They got the accident date wrong, then added another accident by mistake.
We`re only just getting it sorted now, Her smash was before christmas.

Great for short term, But I think I`d only use them to get a new (to me) bike home.

But sorry i cant help on the Danish bit

Pete

When we arrived in Greece (on Australian bikes) we had to buy green card insurance (a friend bought his in advance through Alisa). You could get it for 15 days, or any number of months. Could you get something like that even though it is registered in England?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
