Hi there,
Which island ar you hading for ?
I live on the Isle of Lewis, near Stornoway.
The islands can give you interesting riding, great beaches and the pubs are pretty good aswell.
If you are here before the 20th June I could maybe show you around, if not there are lots of bikers around here to make you welcome.:mchappy:

So basically tell us what you are looking for and I'll give you any help I can.

Good that you are avoiding the May Day festivals they have up there; with regards to incomers the locals can be, well - a little strange...

Hebrides

Most of the roads are single type with passing places...there is a sort of code..first one at the passing place stops and waits. You should wave by saying thanks. Camping is easy...plenty of rough camping next to many of the glorious beaches especially in Harris where the scenery is stunning. In North Uist try any of the fish smoke houses for smoked fish...great.

Benbecula is a bit of a boring place...the best islands are Harris/North Uist and South Uist...Barra too but very small. Take the ferry from Lochboisdale to Oban...enjoy the scenery between Mull and the mainland. Do take a trip round Mull and visit Iona..worth the detour

There are plenty of small shops ..though dont expect large super markets. Pub food is good...the people are great.

It rains a lot though...best months are May/June

Great place to visit. Callanish stones on Lewis are worth a visit. The beaches on Harris are superb. I've camped at Horgabost which is very nice if you are camping. Plenty of other spots to camp throughout the islands. Plenty of cafes too. Enjoy it :thumbup1:

June = Midges. Take Deet, head net, cover up close weave clothes and if camping make sure you have fine mesh doors/inner tent. Camp in a windy spot if you can. They can turn a trip into a nightmare.

Someone showed me a thing like a portable "midge muncher" once that they raved about. Ran on those little gas canisters that go in portable hair dryers and similar. Works for about a 2metre radius. I have been meaning to get one.
